The Role

The Director of Steep Slope Sales is responsible for driving business development, client engagement, and revenue growth within the steep slope market. This role applies best-in-class engineering expertise to develop long-term solutions while identifying and capitalizing on new business opportunities. The Director partners closely with Key Account Managers and cross-functional teams to enhance the client experience, educate stakeholders, and position GSI as a leader in geohazard mitigation.

Responsibilities

Sales and Client Engagement

  • Develop and manage a portfolio of key accounts in the steep slope market.
  • Support Key Account Managers by attending and hosting client meetings, trade shows, sales meetings, and other industry events.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients to understand their needs and provide tailored solutions.
  • Ensure timely responses to client requests and inquiries.

Technical Expertise and Industry Leadership

  • Apply best-in-class engineering expertise to develop long-term solutions for assigned projects.
  • Conduct site visits to assess geohazards and support proposal development.
  • Stay current with industry trends, best practices, and design guidance to expand expertise.
  • Become an expert on GSI’s products, services, and technical applications.
  • Create and deliver compelling, accurate, and informative technical presentations.

Market and Business Development

  • Identify new opportunities to serve clients and improve their experience within the steep slope industry.
  • Challenge the status quo by developing innovative strategies to expand market reach.
  • Develop technical roadmaps to support national sales strategies.
  • Work cross-functionally with internal teams, including marketing and operations, to align business development efforts.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, engineering, marketing, or a related field.
  • 10+ years of experience in sales and/or business development, preferably in geohazard mitigation, construction, or civil engineering.
  • Strong technical knowledge of geotechnical and steep slope stabilization solutions.
  • Experience engaging with key clients and stakeholders at all levels.
  • Ability to develop and deliver technical presentations that educate and influence decision-makers.
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Self-motivated, strategic thinker with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Experience in CRM tools and data-driven sales strategies is a plus.

Physical and Environmental Requirements

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee will be required to stand, sit, talk, hear, reach, and use hands and fingers to operate computers, telephones, printers and keyboards.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee will be able to use vision to read documents and use computer screens.
  • Work is typically conducted in a standard office environment with moderate noise levels due to office activities and interactions.
  • Must be able to travel occasionally.

This role will be remote based in the Western Region of the United States within a 1-hour commute of a major airport.

 

The expected base pay range for this position is $181,000.00 - $215,000.00. Salary ranges are dependent on a variety of factors, including qualifications, experience and geographic location. Range is not inclusive of potential bonus or benefits.
